The Journey: 10 Days in Mexico

  • Follow the Blue Camel’s steps on a ten-day odyssey through Mexico, where San Miguel’s serenity, Mexico City’s vibrant pulse, and Oaxaca’s ancient artistry echo the signs of the soul and the horizons. Here, the worlds within and outside converge, inspiring discovery, creation, and transformation.

  • $3300 with a non-refundable 40% deposit* of $1320

    This includes:

    • Accommodation

    • Three meals

    • Transportation and local travels

    • Workshops and entry fees

    • Experienced guides and translators

    • Seminars

    This doesn’t include:

    • International flight tickets

    • Visa (if needed)

    • Travel insurance

    • Personal purchases

    • Snacks

    We currently don’t offer financial aid, but we encourage creatives to seek out financial support from art and cultural institutes.

    * Deposits are required to cover the basic expenses associated with booking accommodations, organizing workshops, and arranging transportation. This ensures that your spot is secured and allows us to prepare everything in advance for a smooth and well-coordinated experience during the residency.

  • Do you want to extend your stay in The Blue Camel studio in Guatemala and get to expand your exposure to Latin America art and culture?

    You can do so by only $550 extra for 14 days, which includes:

    • Accommodation

    • Studio space

    • Communal space

    • Creative support

    • Bi-weekly review sessions

    • Residency programming

    • Airport drop-off

    • Equipped kitchen

    • Weekly cleaning

    This doesn’t include:

    • International flight from Mexico to Guatemala

    • Materials and/or production

    • Groceries

    • Males and Females

    • All nationalities are welcomed to apply with priorities to Arabs and Arabic-speaking creatives

    • Age is between 23-35

    • Conversational English (Though some materials might be in Arabic)

    • No prior creative experience is required

    • No portfolio is required

    • Applicants must be able to commit to the full duration of the program and possess a valid passport for international travel

  • Saudi citizens can enter Mexico without a separate visa for tourism, transit, or business purposes, provided they hold a valid U.S. visa, and are permitted to stay for up to 180 days.

    Non-Saudis must consult their respective embassies or consulates to confirm visa requirements and ensure proper documentation for entry into Mexico.

  • Mexican Peso (MXN)

    Payment Methods:

    • Cash: Commonly used in smaller towns, markets, and local shops.

    • Credit/Debit Cards: Widely accepted in hotels, larger restaurants, and shops in tourist areas.

    • ATMs: Available in most cities and tourist areas for withdrawing Pesos.

    Call your bank before traveling to activate your card for international use and carry some local currency for smaller purchases.

  • Travelers to Mexico are highly advised to obtain travel insurance through trusted providers like World Nomads. It is important to note that The Blue Camel cannot be held liable for any medical costs, flight disruptions, or other unexpected events during your trip.
