After this bountiful and intense journey, participants are encouraged to create works inspired by the rich tapestry of the local culture and landscapes, leaving their mark on the narrative of The Blue Camel.

  • The Blue Camel Residency is a travel and art program that merges exploration, creativity, and cultural connection. Participants embark on journeys to unique destinations, where they engage with local cultures and produce art inspired by their experiences.

  • The residency is open to artists, designers, and creatives from all disciplines and backgrounds. If you’re passionate about travel, art, and cultural exploration, we encourage you to apply.

  • The residency includes accommodation in hostels, guided cultural experiences, and opportunities to collaborate with local artisans. Meals and materials may vary depending on the location and are outlined in the residency details.

  • We host residencies in unique locations worldwide, from serene deserts to bustling urban hubs. Each location is carefully chosen to inspire creativity and connection.

  • Flights, visas, and personal expenses are not covered. Participants are responsible for their travel arrangements and any additional costs not specified in the residency program.

  • The residency focuses on creative exploration. Participants are encouraged to use their travel experiences to produce art, whether visual, written, or performance-based, that reflects the residency’s themes of discovery and connection.

  • The number of participants in each cohort typically ranges from 2 to 10, depending on the theme and location. While many cohorts consist of 7 participants to create an intimate, collaborative, and meaningful experience, the exact number may vary based on the specific event or program.

  • Accommodations are in hostels, reflecting the residency’s backpacking spirit. Participants will share spaces, fostering community and collaboration throughout the journey. More details about the accommodation will be clarified in each residency program.

  • No prior travel experience is required. The residency is designed to be accessible to all, with guidance provided throughout the journey.

  • There are no strict expectations for the type of art produced. Whether you work in painting, photography, design, writing, or another medium, you’re encouraged to create works inspired by the journey and your reflections.

  • Applications are submitted through our website. You’ll need to provide a portfolio or examples of your work, along with a statement explaining your interest in the residency and how it aligns with your creative goals.

  • The cost varies by location and program details. Specific pricing will be provided in the residency listings on our website.

  • At this time, scholarships are not available. However, we encourage participants to seek external funding or grants to support their journey.

  • Each day is a blend of structured activities, cultural engagement, and personal creative time. The schedule allows for both collaboration and individual reflection.

  • Participants retain full ownership of their creations. However, we encourage sharing works with the residency for exhibitions, publications, or digital showcases to inspire others with the acknowledgment of The Blue Camel Residency.

  • Residencies are planned monthly, with 12 cohorts per year. Each residency is tailored to its specific destination.

  • Absolutely! Participants are welcome to apply for and attend multiple residencies to explore different locations and creative opportunities.

  • The residency prioritizes the safety and well-being of participants. All destinations and activities are carefully planned, and participants will receive guidelines and support throughout the journey.

  • Participants become part of The Blue Camel’s creative network, with opportunities to collaborate, share works, and participate in future projects or events.
